FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE State Rep. Don Cazayoux Announces Bid for Congress Baton Rouge , La. Democratic State Representative Don Cazayoux announced today that he is running to represent Louisiana 's 6th Congressional District in the United States Congress. I am running for Congress because the people of Louisiana are ready for a change, Cazayoux said. It's time for a leader who is focused on investing in education, creating better jobs, making sure Louisiana's working families can afford heath insurance, and bringing our troops home with honor. I will bring my record of effective leadership and strong Louisiana values to Congress. Cazayoux has represented the 18 th District in the Louisiana State House for eight years, since first being elected in 1999. He has emerged as a strong leader, heading up bills that cracked down on sexual predators, raised teacher pay to improve Louisiana schools, and strengthened ethics laws. Before serving as a state Representative, Cazayoux was a prosecutor in Pointe Coupee Parish and he continues to practice law in New Roads. It is time for people to work together to solve the important challenges we face as a nation and help create a better future for our kids, Cazayoux continued.
